SSA Committees

SSA has the following committees:

Activities Committee

This committee plans events such as the BBQ and membership meetings. Responsibilities include securing locations for events and ensuring all the plans have been carried out to satisfaction. This committee is headed by one or more members of the Board of Directors and could also include members at large.

Auditing Committee

The function of this committee is to audit the books and records once per year immediately after the close of the fiscal year. This audit is usually done by at least one member of the Board of Directors. This committee is headed by one or more members of the Board of Directors and could also include members at large.

Membership Committee

This committee prepares and implements a program designed to stimulate attendance at regular and special association meetings. This committee is headed by one or more members of the Board of Directors and could also include members at large.

Negotiating Committee

Committee members are responsible for: a) meeting on behalf of the association on matters related to its responsibility, b) conducting annual salary negotiations, c) receiving, investigating and reporting to the Board of Directors all complaints, grievances, and other related personal matters.

Nominating Committee

The nominating committee recruits potential members who would like to serve as a Director on the Board of Directors. The first slate is presented to the membership at the October membership meeting and again at the December membership meeting. The vote will be taken at the December General Membership Meeting.This committee is headed by one or more members of the Board of Directors and could also include members at large.

Retiree Committee

This is usually one person from the Board of Directors who attends the district retiree meetings to give input and bring information back to the Board of Directors.

Website Committee

This committee is responsible for maintaining and updating SSA's website.
